From Vatican City through the Arco delle Campane and St. Peter’s Square, the musical marching band of the Gendarmerie Corps paraded to Piazza Risorgimento as part of its participation in the Jubilee of Bands and Popular Entertainment which took place on May 10 and 11. On Sunday afternoon, May 11, the band then held a concert in Piazza Risorgimento square outside of the Vatican walls, performing a variety of melodies among which the papal anthem, the Jubilee anthem and the Italian national anthem to hundreds of visitors and pilgrims in the square.

The performance was led by maestro Stefano Iannilli and the event was coordinated by the Gendarmerie’s Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Mauro Colaiacomo, the band’s manager.
