The new Vatican Philately and Numismatics Service for July

The Governorate of Vatican City State has undertaken an extensive process of review and renewal of the State Mint and of the Philatelic and Numismatic marketing activities, aimed at ensuring greater efficiency, quality and transparency in all aspects of its operations. This process has involved the entire supply chain: from internal management policies to product design, to the redefinition of safer, more digital and accessible distribution channels.
New presentation, renewed production, sustainable packaging and completely redesigned sales channels: these are the pillars on which the Governorate has founded its renovated State Mint and its Philatelic and Numismatic marketing activities (CFN) [Commercializzazione Filatelica e Numismatica].
Customer registration: new platform, new procedures
After updating and reviewing the management of the personal data of customers already registered in the CFN database - in compliance with the provisions of Decree No. DCLVII [657]of 04/30/2024 on the protection of personal data - the system is preparing to welcome new collectors. With the release of the new internet platform (www.cfn.va) it will, in fact, be possible to register those who were not previously registered, ensuring broader and more inclusive access. The new registration methods not only strengthen the CFN's commitment to protecting personal data, but also introduce concrete tools for transparency and control, ensuring all collectors and enthusiasts - current and future - a safer, more responsible digital experience that complies with the highest regulatory standards.
A new sales model: online, accessible, participatory
What is new concerns the method of sales: from early July, collectors and enthusiasts from all over the world will be able to purchase the philatelic and numismatic products of the Vatican City State online, through a completely renovated e-shop. The new platform has been designed to offer a modern, intuitive purchasing experience open to collectors from all over the world. The entire sales strategy has been redesigned in the name of transparency and the widest possible accessibility: in fact, pre-assignment of products will no longer be applied, in favor of more participatory, impartial and accessible distribution criteria, designed to meet the needs of an increasingly large and diversified philatelic and numismatic community. Furthermore, for specific product lines, distribution will also be extended through commercial partners selected by the Governorate.
The Commitment to Sustainability
Environmental sustainability has been a priority as we searched for more ecological and responsible solutions, both in the design of products and in the choice of materials. Every aspect - from packaging to information systems - has been redesigned to reduce environmental impact, adopting green criteria and entirely recyclable materials, or in any case, with low ecological impact, in full coherence with the principles of sustainable development and green transition promoted by the Vatican City State.
Production is always running, even during renovation
During these months of renovation, the Vatican’s philatelic and numismatic production never stopped. The products dedicated to the pontificate of Pope Francis, the Jubilee Holy Year 2025, the Sede Vacante 2025 and the inauguration of the pontificate of Pope Leo XIV were regularly produced.
The future of Vatican philately and numismatics has arrived: more accessible, heightened sustainability, closer to collectors and enthusiasts from all over the world.
